Arawa Sir Ed is a New Zealand Welsh Cob stallion of modern type, bred for performance from all-imported bloodlines by Jenny Davison of the Arawa Stud (UK).  Arawa Sir Ed is a multi supreme champion in-hand and both his pure and partbred offspring have regular success in the show ring.

Arawa Sir Ed produces quality foals who are stamped with his correct conformation, bone, elegant movement, calm temperament, trainable nature, and refined head. Arawa Sir Ed is suitable for producing performance sport horses and ponies from a wide range of mares.

Arawa Sir Ed is available to outside mares via natural service.

Lineage

Arawa Sir Ed’s sire, Machno Sportsman (Imp UK) stands at Dingmac Stud in Oxford, Canterbury. Machno Sportsman is a performance bred Welsh Cob by the British Sports Pony Society elite graded stallion Carregcoch Bleddyn

Carregcoch Bleddyn stood at Machno Stud, North Wales, and was awarded the title of “Leading Sire of Performance Ponies” in the UK for 2005, awarded by the British Equine Federation. Carregcoch Bleddyn’s progeny include European Grand Prix show-jumper, Machno Carwyn, whose wins include two individual gold medals at the European, and three at the Swiss, pony show-jumping championships. 

Machno Sportsman’s dam is Machno Sporty Spice, herself a successful show jumper and dam of the gold medal winning jumping pony, Machno Sirian. Machno Sporty Spice is sired by Minyffordd Democrat, a proven dressage horse who has sired national (UK) level dressage and show jumping ponies. Machno ponies are known worldwide for their versatility and performance in show jumping, dressage, and eventing.

Ed’s dam,  Arawa Renaissance is by Arawa Royal Mail (Imp UK) and out of Nesscliffe Ronda (Imp UK). Arawa Renaissance was Supreme Champion Purebred at the 2009 Canterbury All Welsh In hand Show and, along with her dam, Nesscliffe Ronda, now resides at Seawynd Welsh Cobs, South Australia.
